LEBANON โ€” Property owners in Lebanon will start receiving letters containing their updated property values this week following a citywide property revaluation, according to a news release from the city.

The city began a revaluation of all properties to bring assessments in line with market values in February. The revaluation was necessary because the city’s median assessed value is currently about 73% of market value, which is below state requirements of 90% to 110%.

The city’s last revaluation was completed in 2022.

The updated property assessments are as of April 1, and the updated tax rate will be finalized in late October. Residents are discouraged from estimating tax bills using the new property values and the current tax rate, which is $26.28 per $1,000 of assessed value.

The city’s next property tax bill, due in December, will reflect the new assessments.
