Overview:

A fire broke out in an unoccupied house under renovation in Wilder, Vermont, which was put out by Hartford firefighters. No injuries were reported, and the fire is under investigation but not considered suspicious.

WILDER โ€” A home under renovation on Chandler Road is salvageable but has fire, smoke and water damage following a Wednesday morning blaze.

Firefighters responded just after 8 a.m. Wednesday to a report of black smoke coming from 780 Chandler Road.

After forcing entry, firefighters found no occupants, said Hartford Fire Chief Scott Cooney.

Lebanon, Hanover, Windsor and Norwich fire departments provided mutual aid, and no firefighters or others were injured. The fire was under control by 8:30 a.m., according to a town news release.

The Cape Cod-style home is owned by Alex and Mary DeFelice, who purchased it in February for $372,500, according to town property records.

Hartford Fire Marshals are investigating and the fire is not considered suspicious.
