WOODSTOCK — The Woodstock Rotary Club will hold a ceremony to light the new Mt. Tom Star on Sunday.
The gathering will take place from 5 to 5:30 p.m. at Woodstock Inn front garden at 14 the Green.
The group raised around $120,000 to reconstruct the star that sits atop Mt. Tom and is visible from Woodstock Village.
“This stunning steel star, which was funded by community donations last winter, is a symbol of hope and resilience, designed to shine brightly for another 100 years,” according to a news release from the Woodstock Rotary Club.
After the ceremony, the club will host a fundraising gala at the Woodstock Inn for the nearby Thompson Senior Center’s home-delivered meals program. Tickets are $100 per person and can be purchased by emailing woodstockrotary@woodstockvt.com.
