HAVERHILL โ A 21-year-old Hartford, Conn., man faces felony burglary and gun charges related to the suspicious death of a 22-year-old Springfield, Mass., man in a “shooting” incident early Monday morning in Woodsville.
Jayden McClanahan entered not guilty pleas to three felony charges of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and felonious use of a firearm in Grafton County District Court in Haverhill on Tuesday afternoon. He is being held without bail in Grafton County Jail.
The affidavit in support of the charges against McClanahan is sealed “to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation,” New Hampshire Assistant Attorney General Bethany Durand said Tuesday.

McClanahan’s attorney, Grafton County Public Defender Jason Novak, declined to comment.
A probable cause hearing for McClanahan will be scheduled for next week, Durand said. An official date had not been set as of Tuesday.
Durand declined to comment on whether there are any additional suspects connected to the incident.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner was scheduled to conduct an autopsy of the body of the victim, Demetrius White, on Tuesday, according to a news release from the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office.
Authorities received a call about an incident at 14 Nelson St. in Woodsville, a village in Haverhill, at about 1 a.m. on Monday morning.
Police discovered White’s body inside the apartment building. Officials have described his death as suspicious.
Police are trying to identify everyone who was inside a Woodsville apartment at the time of the incident, Durand told members of the media in a brief news conference Monday evening at Haverhill Town Hall.

A โlarge number of peopleโ ran out of the building following the incident, Durand said.
โWe really need to forward the investigation and there are people who knew what happened and we just really need to identify them and hear what they saw,โ she said.
Durand revealed that a โshootingโ occurred and that aside from White, โother individuals have sought medical care.โ
She declined to comment on the number of individuals or the nature of their injuries.

The investigation is being conducted by the New Hampshire Attorney Generalโs Office, the New Hampshire State Police Major Crimes Unit and the Haverhill Police Department.
She urged anybody with any information regarding the incident to call the New Hampshire State Police tip line at 603-MCU-TIPS (603-628-8477).
