CLAREMONT — A Claremont man was sentenced to prison Wednesday for distributing sexual images of children via social media after pleading guilty.
Thomas Seaward, 44, was sentenced in Sullivan County Superior Court to a minimum of four years and maximum of 10 years in Concord state prison on one count of distribution of child sexual abuse images, according to state court records.
He was also pleaded guilty to one count of possession of said images, for which he received a sentence of 7½ to 10 years, all suspended, according to court records.
Seaward was indicted last year after a former roommate came forward to police saying he found sexually explicit images and videos of children on Seaward’s phone, according to the police affidavit. Police obtained a search warrant for Seaward’s phone and found the videos and photos, as well as 16 deleted images, many of them graphic, the affidavit said.
