NORWICH — Fire officials say no one was injured in a Saturday evening fire that damaged a single-family home on Campbell Flats Road in Norwich.
Firefighters received reports at 6:43 p.m. of fire in a single-story wood home near the Thetford town line, according to Fire Chief Alex Northern. When they arrived, flames could be seen coming from a section of roof near the chimney and spreading to other portions, he said.
Additional help was requested from first responders in Lebanon, Thetford, Strafford and Hanover, and the blaze was under control in about 15 minutes, Northern said. The home was damaged, but is considered livable, he said.
“All things considered, it was quite a good outcome,” Northern said in a phone interview on Monday.
He said the blaze likely started in the home’s wood stove, but an exact cause hasn’t yet been determined.
