WEST LEBANON — A New Hampshire man is facing charges after police say he pointed a gun at a 53-year-old woman he didn’t know outside of a Lebanon hotel on Wednesday night.

Richard Stewart, of Milton, N.H., allegedly pointed the gun “directly” at the woman’s head outside the Baymont by Wyndham on Airport Road as he approached her to inquire about where his wife was, according to a Lebanon police news release.

The man appeared to be intoxicated at the time, as he fell to the ground while holding the loaded .40-caliber pistol, the release states.

The woman wasn’t injured and was able to call police, who responded and arrested Stewart. He has been cited into court on reckless conduct with a deadly weapon and criminal threatening with a firearm, both felonies.

He was released on personal recognizance bail pending his arraignment in Grafton Superior Court on March 11.
