THETFORD — Clay Odell is Thetford’s new community nurse.
Odell, of West Lebanon, has worked as a paramedic since 1985 and a nurse since 1997, according to an announcement from the Community Nurse of Thetford, a nonprofit organization that supports the town’s community nurse program. He will begin taking calls from Thetford residents beginning Sept. 2. Odell replaces Sunny Martinson, who retired after serving as Thetford’s nurse for around two years.
Odell has had a long career in health care in the Upper Valley. He was part of the inaugural flight crew member for DHART, served as executive director of Upper Valley Ambulance and was most recently employed as the lead clinician for the Mobile Integrated Healthcare program at New London Hospital, according to the announcement. He is also a part-time firefighter and paramedic in Newport and a per diem nurse in the Hyperbaric Medicine department at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
