GRANTHAM — Three people were hospitalized following two crashes about an hour apart on Interstate 89 in Grantham and Lebanon on Friday afternoon, according to a news release from New Hampshire State Police.

In the first crash at about 1 p.m., a female driver was thrown from her southbound vehicle in Grantham after it veered off the interstate, hit a guardrail and rolled over.

She was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.

Troopers from Troop D closed lanes while they investigated the crash and removed pieces of the damaged guardrail.

Members of the State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction, or C.A.R., Unit, Grantham Fire and Police departments and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation assisted troopers at the scene.

In the second crash at about 2:12 p.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred on I-89 northbound in Lebanon. The drivers of the vehicles were transported to DHMC for evaluation of their injuries.

The interstate was closed for about half an hour to allow for the vehicles to be removed from the scene. Lebanon Fire and Police departments assisted.

The release did not identify any of the drivers involved or the extent of their injuries.
