HARTLAND — The Hartland Elementary School principal is slated to become interim superintendent of Windsor Southeast Supervisory Union on July 1, after Superintendent David Baker departs, Baker said in a Friday message to the community.
Christine Bourne, a Cornish resident, has been Hartland’s principal since 2017. She was previously an elementary school teacher for more than 20 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Keene State College and a master’s degree in education from New England College in Henniker, N.H.
Lyndsie Perkins, Hartland’s assistant principal, is slated to become interim principal. The school district plans to hire an interim assistant principal for one year, Baker said.
The changes are coming as Baker, a Danville, Vt. resident, is set to become superintendent of the Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union, based in Hardwick, Vt. this summer. “As hard as it is to leave, it is so good to know that our school system will be in good hands,” Baker wrote.
