HANOVER — The Hanover High girls tennis team defeated Londonderry, 9-0, Monday at Dartmouth College’s Alumni Gym courts. The NHIAA Division I match’s originally scheduled site at Storrs Pond Recreation Area couldn’t be used because of standing water on the courts.

The six singles and three doubles matches finished with a combined game score of 72-6, with no individual or pairing dropping more than one for the Bears. Freshmen Rachel Rockmore and Sophia Costa made their high school debuts and Costa, at No. 5 singles, blanked her opponent.

“She really showed her strength and her athleticism,” Hanover coach Liz Murray said.

The Bears also got singles victories from seniors Eleanor Van Aalst and Natalier Feyer and juniors Mackenzie Liu, and Noura St. Hilaire. Hanover visits Pinkerton (0-1) on Wednesday.
