LYME, NH — Harold J. Haddock, Jr., age 88, passed Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Hanover Terrace in Hanover, NH from complications of COVID-19.
Born in Newark, NJ July 26, 1932 to Lillian (Smith) and Harold J. Haddock, Sr., Harold was raised in Staten Island, New York and attended Tottenville High School. Harold served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1956, after which he attended college, ultimately graduating from Rutgers University with a degree in Accounting.
He spent the majority of his 33-year career with Price Waterhouse, where he was a partner and CFO, in New York and Tampa, Florida. During his time working in New York, he lived in Scotch Plains, NJ and served on the Board of Directors of the Scotch Plains-Fanwood YMCA. He also got his private pilot’s license at that time.
Retiring in 1993, Harold settled in Grantham, NH. He remained professionally and civically active, serving in Kazakhstan in the International Executive Service Corps. He was also a Grantham selectman, the Eastman Community Association board president, and a member of the board of trustees of Lebanon College.
Harold is survived by his wife, Margot Mahoney Haddock; daughters, Anita (Edward) Amoroso of Somerville, NJ and Carolyn (Robert) Gould of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Ari and Lindsay Gould of Pittsburgh, PA; brother, Mark (Claire) Haddock of Mansfield, OH; and stepchildren, Anthony Caplan, Meredith Caplan, Nicole Caplan, and Elise Caplan.
No services are planned at this time because of safety concerns but will be announced at a future date.
