Lars was born in the Bronx, NY in 1967, home of his beloved NY Yankees, and as a child he lived in NYC until 1972, Springfield, MA from 1972-1976 and Butler, NJ from 1976 to 1992, graduating from Butler, HS in 1985 and from Rutgers University with a BA in Landscape Architecture in 1992. After living in Howell, NJ for a short time he moved to Boulder Colorado in 1995 before returning to the east coast and finally settling in VT in 1997 joining his close college friend Scott Durkee. Lars established his own General Contractor business in Vermont, and was very proud of the many creative projects he was able to complete over his 20+ years of work. Recently Lars was working Terrace Communities as an Assistant Facilities Manager. Lars was an athlete in HS competing in Soccer, Football, Skiing and Track, and competed in ski racing collegiately as well. Throughout his life he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed skiing, hunting, fishing, hiking, mountaineering and rock climbing as well as many other activities. He especially loved sharing these moments with his younger brother Sven and his close group of buddies. Lars was an officer and member of the Cascadnac fish and game club and he volunteered his time supporting the local boy scout troops for many outdoor activities. Lars always had a zest for life, a contagious sense of humor, loving to bust chops with his family and friends, but he was also a real sensitive and gentle soul at the core. He loved his wife Erin deeply and completely, and cherished all their shared adventures over their 15 years together. His dogs Juno and Sofi were like his own children and he was always happiest when he could share a beer on his porch with his good friends, discussing everything and nothing at all. We are all better for knowing him and loving him. A life too short but one lived to the fullest.
