SHARON, VT — Walter (Wally) A. Radicioni, Sr., 87, died peacefully Thursday morning, August 6, 2020, at his home of five years in Sharon, VT. He was born August 24, 1932 in Mystic, CT, the oldest child of Armondo and Mary (LaPere) Radicioni. While growing up in Westerly, RI Wally met the love of his life, Elizabeth Burdick, with whom he spent 56 blessed years.

He began his career with the US Navy and retired from from military service, while active with the US Coast Guard. At that time, he and his wife began expanding their career in the restaurant and real estate businesses. In 1969, for example. they owned and operated The Sea Mist Haven in Mystic, CT and from there, Carpenters Grille in Matunuck, RI. In 1980, Wally moved his family to Queechee, VT where they owned and manged Queechee Realty for a period of time, before purchasing Brooksies Restaurant in Sharon, VT, operating it for over 20 years. The last restaurant they owned was Grabbers Restaurant in Manchester, NH, which they operated until they officially retired. From that point on, they thoroughly enjoyed their home on Mascoma Lake in Enfield, NH. Throughout their life Wally and Betty enjoyed winters in Florida and traveling, finding local fairs and beauty along the way.

He was man who beat to his own drum, lived by his watch (always on time or early), who liked routine, and who loved his family by providing for them. The family will remember him best for his unfiltered papa-isms (Oh Boy!) His favorite term of endearment was “shit head” – If he referred to you as one, you knew you were loved.

In addition to his beautiful wife, Mr. Radicioni was predeceased by his grandson, Charles (CJ) Radicioni. He is survived by his sister and brother, Roberta Terranova and Douglas Radicioni both of Westerly, RI as well as his eight children, Renee Pavlus (David) of Provo, UT; Toni Bacon (Brett) of Dover, NH; Nina Chu (Peter) of West Hartford, VT; Mark Radicioni (Dee Dee) of Westerly, RI; Walter Radicioni, Jr. (Gina) of West Hartford, VT; Lee Ann Julich (Terry) of Manchester, WA; Susan LaPlaca (Joe) of South Royalton, VT; and Laura Ramos of Concord, NH. In addition, Wally leaves twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews all of whom he loved dearly.
