FAIRLEE — Although he’s optimistic that the Jeff Julian Memorial Vermont Open golf championship will be held as scheduled, Lake Morey Country Club director of golf Justin Bonnett is delaying registration for the tournament.
Bonnett announced in an email that signups for the championship won’t start until May 1.
The tournament usually draws more than 100 professional and amateur golfers from around the Northeast and beyond.
Former University of Connecticut golfer Chris Wiatr won last year’s tournament, held at Woodstock Country Club because of winter damage at Lake Morey. This year’s championship remains scheduled for June 22-24 in Fairlee.
