Lacey McNeel, Morgan Roberts and Maddie Miller each scored once in the opening half for the Tigers. Three minutes into the second half, Zoey Foote scored for the Cards. Brianna Frisbee later scored to pull Stevens within one.
Miller closed the door on a potential comeback with her second goal of the game, followed by an Eliza Bates goal one minute later.
Newport (7-5-0) hosts Con-Val today for its senior game. Stevens (5-6-1) hosts Monadnock this evening.

Jenna Klotz scored her first varsity goal on a pass from Abby Koff to give Hartford the lead.
Koff later scored off an assist from Eleanor Hinckley.
Hartford (6-4-0) hosts Green Mountain on Saturday.
Pembroke 2, Hanover 1 (2 ot)

“Pepper Joseph came close in the first overtime, but they scored 2 to 3 minutes into the second overtime,” Hanover coach Doug Kennedy said. “They played a really good, high-level game. It was good to see the girls come up and play at that level.”
Caroline Adams and Casey McGuire had strong games at midfield for the Marauders (8-2-1), who host Manchester West today.
Hopkinton 3, Stevens 1
Claremont
The Hawks notched the game’s first score inside of five minutes of the start, with Miller equalizing shortly after halftime.
Hopkinton pulled away from there, handing the Cardinals a loss that dropped them from the top spot in the state standings.
Stevens (10-3-0) hosts Monadnock on Wednesday.
Pittsfield 6, Newport 1

Pittsfield (4-8) “was more aggressive in running through the ball,” said first-year coach Caleb Godwin. “We have too many guys falling back and returning to their old habits from previous seasons. We want to be more offensive and push forward, but the passing and talking is better. They used to just boot the ball in the past.”
Newport hosts Hinsdale (5-6) today, hoping to hand the Pacers their fifth consecutive loss.
CSC’s Bromley Honored

Bromley had 3.29 kills per set, 3.71 digs per set and reached a double-double in three of the Chargers’ four matches last week.
Bromley and Colby-Sawyer (14-8, 6-2 GNAC) travel to Salem State on Thursday.
GNAC Lauds CSC Pair

Yang is 7-1 in singles matches and is 9-3 in doubles this season. Kopituk and Yang teamed up for doubles and won, 8-0, against Simmons and later defeated Regis’ top tandem, 8-2.
Kopituk went 4-0 last week to improve to 7-2 in singles and 8-3 in doubles. Kopituk lost only one game to win her singles match at Simmons, 6-0, 6-1. Kopituk won, 6-4, 6-1, against Regis to help the Chargers to an 8-1 victory.
Colby-Sawyer (7-2, 6-0 GNAC) travels to Eastern Nazarene on Wednesday to close its season with first place in the GNAC standings on the line.
