The Royals (1-1-0) rallied from a trio of one-goal deficits, trailing 2-1, 3-2, and 4-3 at various points during the action. Mascoma did take an early lead when Gabe Sperry scored off an assist from Dylan Pelton. After a pair of Berlin goals, Pelton scored an equalizer off a feed from Brennen Murphy in the 35th minute.
The Mountaineers would quickly answer with a goal before Ben Seiler scored another equalizer for Mascoma in the 39th minute. Garrett Davis assisted.
After a 3-3 deadlock at halftime, goalie Lizz Pelton and the Mascoma defense would allow Berlin to take a 4-3 lead early in the second half but tightened after that. Seiler would add his second goal of the game, scoring in the 64th minute to knot the score and ultimately force overtime. Schwarz capped the afternoon of comebacks with a golden goal in the second minute of OT.
“This team is a young team, and they just outplayed themselves today,” first-year coach Keli Green said.
The win marks the first in Green’s tenure for the Royals. Green praised the improving effort of the Mascoma defense as the game wore on. The Royals will visit Laconia on Tuesday.
Hanover 4, Bishop Guertin 0

Charlie Adams paced the Hanover attack with two goals. Christo Dragnev scored and had one assist. Sophomore Dylan Kotlowitz added his first career varsity goal to close the book. Keeper Joey Perras made three saves for the shutout.
Coach Rob Grabill praised the play of Matty Gardner and Toño Correa in the midfield along with Amane Matsuoka on the wing. Twenty-four players saw action for Hanover, which held a 23-3 advantage on shots and had six corners to none for the Cardinals.
The Marauders will now prep for their home opener against Merrimack on Wednesday at 6 p.m. Non-perishable food items will be collected pregame for donation to the Haven.
Hartford 2, Lake Region 1

“We were really poor defensively in the first half and didn’t play with much composure. To the boys’ credit, they settled in and started to move the ball around better. Once we got the (second) goal, it really energized us. This is a really good win,” Hartford coach Kevin Guilbault said.
Lake Region took an early lead on penalty kick in the 15th minute. Jones scored the equalizer in the 30th minute, with Nehemiah Arnold picking up the assist. Jones would add the game-winner in the 47th minute on a penalty kick of his own.
“We played really intelligently the last 20 minutes,” Guilbault said. “The forwards did a nice job holding the ball and killing clock. It’s a great team win.”
Keeper Shane Miller made six saves and was credited by Guilbault for his strong play early to help keep the Canes close. Hartford (1-0) visits Lyndon on Wednesday.

Luke Senn led the way with three goals and an assist. A.J. DeBois added a goal and one assist. Merle Russell and Calvin Bonser had one goal each.
Keeper Zach Dexter had five saves and picked up an assist on a direct kick from deep in his own zone. Nathaniel Parkin, Johnny Vogelien and Ross McFate each added one assist.
Oxbow keeper Carter Allen had 17 saves.

“He had a great game,” Woodstock coach Tom Avellino said. “He came out and got some throw-ins in the mouth of the goal. He did a great job tonight.”
Avellino praised the defensive play Charles Greene and Mason Harkins as well as the midfield work of Emilio Montano. Woodstock put six shots on the Milton net but couldn’t get one through.
The Wasps visit Leland & Gray on Wednesday.

Hanover running back Simon Roach led the offensive charge, scoring on TD runs of 60 and 5 yards and finishing with more than 100 rushing yards on the night. Running back Caleb Morse tacked on a 15-yard touchdown, quarterback Mason Winter also added a one-yard scoring run and running back Jack Loftus helped move the ball all evening, tallying 84 yards on the ground. Defensive end Jeffrey Holt recorded eight tackles, and Tyler Whittman recorded two special-team stops that pinned Kennett inside its 20-year line.
Hanover coach Sam Cavallaro was ecstatic over the victory. “I think the key to (the win) was the offensive line played great, and we had over 200 yards rushing,” he said. “The defensive unit as a whole had three huge stops. (Kennett) had three chances where they could have overcome us, but (the defense) had three great stops.”
The Marauders (1-0) opens its home slate on Friday when Hollis Brookline comes to town.

White scored on a pair of short runs for a 14-0 lead by the midway point of the opening quarter. Jed Astbury stretched the lead to 21-0 on a second-quarter scoring run, and Micah Schlabach’s touchdown kickoff return to open the second half essentially put the game away. White completed his TD hat trick midway through the fourth quarter.
“I thought the kids came out really focused, and I though they prepared well pre-game,” Woodstock coach Ramsey Worrell said. “We’ve been focusing and talking a lot about getting our minds right, and I thought we were really aggressive. Our defense was really sharp early.”
Woodstock pays a visit to BFA-Fairfax a week from today.

Katie Birch led Iowa with a hat trick, and Maddy Murphy added two goals. Dartmouth goalie Hailey Valerio had a busy afternoon and recorded 11 saves. The Big Green managed just three shots on goal.

Elms took the lead 19 minutes into the action. Jordan Teixeira broke through for Colby-Sawyer 10 minutes into the second half, scoring with an assist to Sierra Schuster. The Chargers had the better of the play for long stretches, holding a 20-10 edge in shots and a 10-3 advantage in corners.

Nicole Liddle led the Big Green with seven kills; Francesca Meldrum added six. Corinne Cox had a team-best 16 assists, and Zoe Leonard had nine digs. Dartmouth is back in action today against Navy (10 a.m.) and Alabama (5 p.m).

Colby-Sawyer won a pair of doubles contests to start the afternoon. Aislinn O’Connor-Maddy Gemerek won, 8-3, and Yashu Yang-Anna Kopituk won, 8-5.
Yang won at No. 1 singles. O’Connor, Kopituk and Hilary Boucher also won in singles. The Chargers (1-0) visit Nichols on Sunday.
