LEBANON โ€” A staff member at Lebanon Middle School has been placed on leave while school officials investigate concerns brought to them by students, Principal Tom Harkins wrote in a message to the school community on Wednesday.

“Last week, several students came to LMS administration with allegations involving one of our staff members,” Harkins wrote. “We immediately placed this staff member on administrative leave, and started an investigation in conjunction with all the appropriate authorities.”

The unidentified staff member does not have contact with students and remains on leave, Harkins wrote.

“In order to protect student and staff privacy, and due to the ongoing investigation, we cannot release any further information,” Harkins wrote. “But I want to assure you that student safety is always our top priority, and we continue to work hard every day to ensure that your children are safe and supported at school.”

Students or parents with information to share can contact Ben Nester, the Lebanon district’s director of student support services, at bnester@sau88.net.
