Lebanon, N.H. — Douglas J. Anderson, 74, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018, after several months of battling Cancer, at his home in Fort Meyers, Fla.

Doug was born May 16, 1944, in Hanover, N.H. the son of James and Merilynn (Gray) Anderson.

Doug graduated from Lebanon High School in 1962. After graduation Doug began his Office Manager career at St. Johnsbury Trucking in WRJct., Vt., from there he transferred to Stop & Shop in North Haven, Conn. Doug was drafted into the Army in 1965 and served in the Vietnam War. Several years after returning to Conn., he relocated to Fort Meyers, Fla., where he established a very successful Cleaning Business.

Doug never forgot his N.H. roots and was a true fan of the Red Sox and N.E. Patriots. Win or lose, it was always fun discussing the games/players with him. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always ready with a joke when we made phone “visits”. Doug had a passion for completing jigsaw puzzles; his latest purchase was a 5,000 piece puzzle that he was unable to finish. Doug was a very loving person with a heart full of compassion for everyone, and never hesitated to help those in need.

Doug was predeceased by his parents and his brother, David in 2006.

Doug will be greatly missed by his surviving sisters: his twin, Lynne Anderson (Fran Lebrun), Sally Boutin (Norman), from Lebanon; son, Douglas and daughter, Julie and their children, from Connecticut; his sister-in-law, Christine Anderson, from Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his longtime friends Pete and Rosary from Connecticut.

To honor Doug’s wishes there will be a private service, for immediate family members, at a later date.
