West Lebanon, N.H. — Linda Marie White, 69, of West Lebanon, died with her family at her side on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Gerald K. White. She is also survived by her daughter, Rachael White, and grandchildren Eilis Murphy and Brennen Murphy of Enfield, N.H.; her son, Jeffrey White of West Lebanon, N.H.; her sister Debra Gardner and husband Bruce of Hindsdale, N.H.; her brother Charles Moore and wife Daveen of Canaan, N.H.; and sister Judith Carley and husband Sterling (Jake) of Enfield, N.H.; and brother-in-law James White of Lebanon, N.H. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Linda was born May 30, 1948 in Hanover, N.H., to James E. and Heiliene Austin Moore. She attended Lebanon schools through her junior year, where she met and fell in love with Gary. She moved to Enfield for her senior year and graduated Mascoma High School in 1966. Linda and Gary married shortly after graduation and began their life together in Hanau, Germany, where Gary was stationed in the U.S. Army. Upon their return to the States in 1969, they lived in Enfield for a few years before settling in West Lebanon where they raised their children and still lived at the time of Linda’s passing.

Linda worked for Cody Electric Company for many years, before providing child care in her home until she retired. In retirement, Linda was a member of the Lebanon Arts and Crafts Association and volunteered for many years at LISTEN in White River Jct., until she became too ill to do so anymore. Linda found great joy in attracting humming birds and song birds to her backyard, and tending her flower beds where she spent countless hours over the years.

At Linda’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral. A Celebration of Life reception will be held in the spring; day and location will be announced at a later date.

Linda’s family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the medical team and staff at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative & Hospice Care for caring for Linda as if she were their own mother.
