Smith’s goal came three minutes into overtime and was assisted by Carson Garland, his second helper of the afternoon. The Lakers had taken the lead in the 33rd minute when Michael Mullen scored on a feed from Garland. Pittsfield would knot the contest on a strike early in the second half.
“Both teams created opportunities in the remainder of regulation time,” Sunapee coach Jack Iacopino said.
The Lakers had the better of the play, holding a 20-9 advantage in shots and a 7-4 edge in corners. Keeper Will Palin made six stops, including a game-saving play late in regulation when his quick reflexes stopped a misguided clear by a teammate from becoming an own goal. Palin leaped and barely tipped the clear over the upper right corner to keep the score tied at 1-1.
Sunapee (4-2) visits Concord Christian on Wednesday.

Lennart Burgwedel added a goal in the second half for Rivendell (3-0), which was playing for the first time since Sept. 7. Zach Gould had two assists. Robert Burgwedel, Johnny Vogelien and Dylan Ricker each had one assist.
“The kids played well. It was good to get back on a game field instead of just practicing,” Rivendell coach Bob Thatcher said.
Keeper Griffin Formica had seven saves for the shutout. The Raptors host Sharon for homecoming on Saturday.

Steven Townley scored unassisted midway through the first half for Woodstock (2-1-2). The Marauders would answer 20 minutes into the second half. Keeper Steven Bianchi made nine saves for the visitors.
“It was a very physical contest. I’ll take a tie; (Northfield is) very good,” Wasps coach Tom Avellino said.
Woodstock visits Brattleboro on Saturday.

Cabot scored the equalizer 20 minutes into the second half. TSA coach Rob Stainton commented on the strong play of midfielder Cole Ward. Keeper Dillon Butner had two saves for Sharon.
“We had a fair number of chances. We hit the post, hit the crossbar at the end of regulation. Just couldn’t squeeze the ball into the back of the net, but the whole team played really well,” Stainton said.
Sharon visits Rivendell on Saturday.

Clough scored with an assist to Astra Sleeper to give Woodsville the early lead. Lisbon answered to tie things up at halftime. Olivia Sarkis scored the go-ahead goal for the Engineers, followed by an insurance strike from Suzy Bazzell. EmmaLee Smith added an assist.
The teams agreed to play four 20-minute quarters because of warm game-time temperatures and Lisbon’s short bench. The timing may have disrupted the Engineers after a fast start to the game.
“It was up and down. We seemed to go on vacation a bit but then finished really well. Taking a break after 20 minutes threw us off. It seemed like we were just getting momentum, and then they blew the whistles on us,” Engineers coach Ann Loud said.

Lauren Bellavance put the visitors on the board only to have Isabella Amodeo equalize within four minutes midway through the first half. Novah Conway (nine shots) and Erin Shands (six shots) both had plenty of opportunities to score for Sharon, which used the play sweeper Kaila Skeet-Browning and goalkeeper Rory Livingston (11 saves) to keep Cabot from denting the net again.

Gebhardt started Woodstock (1-2-0) toward a 3-0 halftime lead with an unassisted strike. Sorrentino finished passes from MacKenzie Yates for her first two goals, adding a solo score and a final one from Lilia McCullough as the Wasps took over.
“We have about six freshmen on the field at any time; they’re a big class, and we’re small,” Woodstock coach Annie Doton said. “They’re aggressive. Lily was where she needed to be, really tenacious in front of the cage. … Kelly, the same thing.”
Maggie Parker stopped 11 shots for the Wasps, who return home to face Hartford this afternoon.

Golfers, for a change, played the course’s back nine because of seasonal greens work on Woodstock’s front nine. Windsor’s Ben Meagher shot a 47 for his school’s low round. Devin Beland added a 55 for the Yellowjackets.
Allie Leary shot 49 for Mid Vermont Christian. Oxbow’s Cody Grant checked in at 53, one shot better than low Woodstock golfer Eli Chynoweth.
The Wasps are at the Quechee Club to take on Hartford this afternoon.

A group of four women — Emma White, Peninah Benjamin, Audrey Giblin and Sophia Diserio — represented the team at the Stu Nelson regatta hosted by Connecticut College. The Big Green took first place in the Division A race and finished sixth overall in the 18-team field.
At the Nevins Trophy hosted by Kings Point, Dartmouth was represented by Alyssa Berger, Erik Weis, Taggart Bonham, Mary Amis, Timothy Greenhouse and Jack McGraw. The Big Green finished 11th out of 20 teams.
At the Central Series, hosted by Boston College, Kathryn Hall, Lisa Genther, Michael Tellini and Sarah Chong combined to help Dartmouth finish fifth out of 17 teams. Max Clapp, Eloise Burn, Paige Clark, Rebecca McElvain, Chris Williford and Duncan Williford then helped the Big Green to a 10th place finish at the Hatch Brown Trophy.
