Worcester, Mass. — The Dartmouth College men’s soccer team took down Holy Cross, 5-0, on Saturday night in a nonleague game at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium.

Matt Danilack scored two goals, and Dartmouth added scores from Wyatt Omsberg, Noah Paravicin and Eduvie Ikoba. The Big Green led, 3-0, at halftime.

Dartmouth keeper Christopher Palacios made one save, while Holy Cross counterpart Henry Stutz made three. The Big Green (3-2-0) outshot the Crusaders, 10-3, and owned a 5-2 advantage in corners.

Women’s Soccer

Colby-Sawyer 2, Maine Maritime 0

Castine, Maine — Two second-half goals powered the Chargers, who improved to 3-1.

Colby-Sawyer’s Molly MacLure broke through 8 minutes, 26 seconds into the second frame, assisted by Amanda Martin. Martin struck again 10 minutes later off of a feed from sophomore Haley Thurber. Chargers keeper Sam Mitchell made four saves for her second shutout of the season.

Colby-Sawyer hosts New England College on Tuesday.

Field Hockey

Colby-Sawyer 6, Becker 1

Leicester, Mass. — Colby-Sawyer scored six straight goals, five in the second half, outshot their opponents, 38-2, and held a 12-5 advantage in penalty corners as the Chargers improved to 3-2.

Hadley Woodfin put Colby-Sawyer on the board on a breakaway in the 28th minute to tie the game, 1-1. Bella Robinson scored twice in the second half. Jordan Teixeira and Rachel Fisher had one goal each.

Colby-Sawyer freshman goalie Abby Ladd did not make a save in the victory. The Chargers travel to Wheelock on Wednesday night.

Women’s Tennis

Colby-Sawyer 8, Johnson & Wales 1

New London — Colby-Sawyer improved its win streak to six matches, handing Johnson & Wales its first loss of the season.

JWU became the second team the Chargers have defeated this season that made the NCAA Division III Tournament last year. Nichols also made NCAAs last season as winners of the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Chargers beat the Bison, 5-4, on Sept. 2.

Colby-Sawyer (6-0) hosts Green Mountain on Wednesday.

Men’s Golf

Dartmouth at Cornell Invitational

Ithaca, n.y. — Dartmouth stands in second place after day two of the Cornell Invitational at Robert Trent Jones Golf Course.

The Big Green’s Will Bednarz is tied for second after a second-round 71 left him at 2-under-par 140. Riley Griffin shot a 69 and is at even-par 142, in a tie for eighth. James Turner shot a second consecutive 73 and is tied for 26th. Kieran Purcell, of Delaware, leads the field at 147.

Women’s Tennis

Dartmouth at Tribe Invitational

Williamsburg, Va. — Dartmouth had a strong showing against host William & Mary on day two of the Tribe Invitational.

Julia Schroeder and Maddie Hwang partnered for a 6-2 win in double. Racquel Lyn-Abigail Chiu and Allison Chuang-Shannan Mukerji each won, 7-5. Chiu added a 6-1, 6-2 win in singles. Mukerji battled back to win, 5-7, 6-4, 6-0. Hwang won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-0.

The Big Green will face Iowa at 9 a.m. today in day three of the invitational.

Women’s Volleyball

Dartmouth Splits

Durham, n.h. — The Big Green beat Siena (25-22, 25-18, 25-18) and fell to host UNH (19-25, 23-25, 17-25) on the final day of the Holly Young Invitational.

Mallen Bischoff had 14 kills and 10 digs for Dartmouth in the victory over Siena. Tori Dozier had 18 assists. Abby Kott and Leeza Pselski each had a .500 hitting percentage. Dartmouth led, 8-2, early in the first set before falling behind, 22-19. The Big Green then won five straight points to take the set on their way to the sweep.

Dozier had 23 assists and 10 digs against UNH. Sara Lindquist had nine kills and Maddy Schoenberger had 11 digs.

Dartmouth opens Ivy League play on Friday at Harvard.
