Newport — A 52-year-old Manchester man is accused of using physical force to sexually assault a girl in Claremont last year, according to the indictments handed up on Wednesday.

A Sullivan County Grand Jury indicted Tommy Edwards on three counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault, three counts of felonious sexual assault and a count of attempted aggravated felonious sexual assault.

Edwards allegedly “physically restrained” a 14-year-old girl and sexually assaulted her last July, the indictments state.

The date of his court arraignment wasn’t immediately known. Edwards is being held on $200,000 bail at the Sullivan County House of Corrections.
