Tunbridge, Vt.— Joseph A. Henault, 80 died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, Vt.

He was born Aug. 16, 1936 in Franklin, Mass. the son of Arthur and Veronica (Bonoyer) Henault.  He attended school in Franklin, Mass. graduating in 1954 from Franklin High School.  He served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1963.

On August 19, 1958 he married Roberta Brown.  They lived in Franklin, Mass. for many years, before moving to Tunbridge, Vt. in 1984.  Joe was a policeman in the city of Franklin, Mass. for over 20 years before he retired in 1984.  After moving to Vermont, he worked many years on campus security at Vermont Technical College in Randolph Center, Vt.

He was a member of, St. Mary’s Parish, where he served for many years as an altar boy and Our Lady of the Light Chapel in South Strafford, Vt. where he served as an altar attendant.

He was an HO model train enthusiast, crafting model landscapes and buildings. Joe’s greatest love was his beagles and archery.  He had won many archery awards shooting his recurve bows.  He belonged to many archery and sportsman clubs in both Massachusetts and Vermont.  He loved to walk his dog daily and was an avid Red Sox Fan.

He is survived by his wife Roberta Henault of South Royalton, Vt., four daughters, Laura Hull of Barnard,  Vt., Denise Carr of Tunbridge, Vt., Sandra Henault of Bethel, VT and Becky Henault of Tunbridge, Vt., a granddaughter Emma Henault of Tunbridge, Vt. and a Brother, Michael Henault of California.

Calling Hours will be held Friday, Dec. 9, 2016 from 6 p.m.8 p.m. at the Boardway and Cilley Funeral Home, 300 VT RT 110, Chelsea, VT.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated, Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Light Chapel, 203 VT RT 132, So. Strafford, VT.  The burial will be at a later date in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Franklin, Mass.
