Corinth — Vermont State Police are asking anyone with information about a Monday burglary at a home on Cookeville Road in Corinth to come forward.

The suspect broke into Teba Toffling-Holmes home while she was out and stole firearms, cash and jewelry, police said in a news release.

The 48-year-old Toffling-Holmes said she arrived home around 5:30 p.m. to find her door kicked off the hinges and her bedroom light on. She immediately called police.

Further investigation revealed the burglar stole several items with sentimental value, including an urn necklace with her husband’s remains, her wedding band and her engagement ring. Many of the items have custom engraving.

In addition, the burglar stole a unique .30-30 rifle with a stainless-steel barrel, a walnut stock and a handmade leather strap.
