Belmont, n.h.
Hanover girls swept the top two spots, three of the top seven and five of the top 13 to win the Belmont Invitational at Belmont High School on Friday. Hanover’s boys had a respectable afternoon as well, placing fourth as a team in a field of 21 schools.
Freshman Lucy Glueck impressed over Belmont’s 5K course, winning in 20 minutes, 29.0 seconds, with sophomore teammate Leila Trummel right behind in 20:31.9. Juniors Sadie Lingelbach-Pierce (seventh, 21:40.3) and Elsa Nordstrom (11th, 21:52.3) and sophomore Kennedy Lange (13th, 22:09.7) completed the scoring for the Marauders (34 points), who easily outpaced Monadnock (117) and Kearsarge (148) for team honors. All seven Hanover runners recorded times in the top 25 of a field of 139 finishers.
Hanover’s boys posted 176 points to finish behind Monadnock (65), Kearsarge (79) and Mascenic (109). Junior Morgan Baughman had a strong run for Hanover, placing third in 17:46.0. The Marauders’ remaining points came from senior Henry Mackall (29th, 19:04.4), junior Joseph Jacobs (42nd, 19:29.8), freshman Wilson Rowan (51st, 19:57.8) and juniro David Wilson (56th, 20:07.1).

Laconia, n.h.
Caleb Broughton threw six touchdown passes — four to Nate Perkins, two to Ryan Milliken — as Lebanon’s post-halftime explosion produced enough cushion to withstand a late Laconia score. Milliken also added a run TD for the Raiders.
“They kind of took it to us good in the first half; they were running the ball down our throats,” Lebanon coach Chris Childs said. “We made adjustments to slow them down a little bit and got going.”
Laconia closed the gap to five points with a touchdown in the final two minutes, but the Sachems’ ensuing onside kick went backwards to hand the Raiders the ball back. Lebanon then killed the clock for the victory.
With three games left in the season, Lebanon remains a game behind Bow (5-1) for the fourth and final postseason spot out of the 11-school North Conference. Having already met Hanover and with Windham, Plymouth and Bow still on the schedule, the Raiders face a difficult path to the postseason. Childs believes his squad is coming into its own at the ideal time.
“When you look at our schedule, we have five playoff teams now,” Childs said. “We’ve had a tough schedule, and the kids are just going to have to take it week by week and game by game and play by play and see what happens. We have the toughest schedule in the state for Division II. To face that many playoff teams is tough.”
Windham visits the Raiders a week from tonight.

The Falcons forced six takeaways in all, three fumbles and three interceptions. Oxbow quarterback Noah Johnson ran for 48 yards and threw for another 98. Jake Stimson’s 5-yard scoring run and Cooper Smith’s 1-yard dive accounted for the bulk of Oxbow’s points.
