Thetford
Balch won the girls individual division in 22 minutes, 13 seconds. Woodstock outpointed their hosts by placing Vollers (24:24) and Sydney Pilot (24:51) in the two spots behind Balch, getting a sixth-place finish by Kit Oney (26:46) and a 12th from Hailey Napier (27:59) for a four-point victory.
Grace Clement (27:07), Hannah Harkins (27:08) and Morgan Lavoy (27:09) were 8-9-10 to complete Thetford’s tally. Lillian McCray had the best finish for Hartford, placing 23rd in 34:23.
Bellows Falls tipped the Panthers in the boys team race. Brattleboro’s Isaac Frietas-Eagan won in 18:59. TA earned a 2-4-11-13 result through Malcolm Silver-Van Meter (18:59), Ian Spelman (20:13), Eamon Deffner (22:57) and Eli Kaliski (23:24).
Robert Grots topped Woodstock with a time of 25:52, good for 17th overall. The race included a number of athletes who had yet to complete 10 practices in order to have their times count toward team tallies.
The next MVL race will be at Bellows Falls Union High School on Tuesday.

White River Junction
Up 2-1 midway through the second half, Ben Rouillard scored back-to-back goals in the 66th and 69th minutes to take control. Goalkeeper Jordy Allard (five saves) denied an MMU penalty kick and rebound in the 72nd minute, to which his teammates responded with goals in the 73rd minute from Kyle Prior and the 77th from Nick Jones.
“There was a lot going on from the 66th minute,” Guilbault deadpanned.
Jones and Prior also scored in the first half to join Rouillard in the two-goal department. Jones’ strikes were his first in varsity play, while fellow freshman Andrew St. Martin produced his first varsity assist. Prior, Jones, Patrick McGlone and Carter Farnsworth also had assists.
“We need to have a good balance between offense and defense,” Guilbault said. “Luckily, we were able to finish today. I hope we continue to score goals, because I think we’ll learn to take care of defense.”
The Canes visit Spaulding on Friday.
Woodsville
Alex Enderson scored four times for Woodsville, which received single strikes from Adam Cataldo and Sam Pushee. Cataldo also set up three goals, with Houde, Pushee, Cody Burroughs, Garrett Olsen and Brandon Brown also earning helpers.
Jason Turner stopped six shots for Woodsville, which bolted to a 7-1 halftime lead. The Engineers should get a stiffer test on Thursday when they visit Epping, which coach Mike Ackerman said is one of the better Division IV squads in the southern half of New Hampshire.
Lebanon
Sandmann added a second goal just four minutes later, scoring on a feed from Graham Chickering. Nate Gariepy then threaded a perfect pass for Owen Johnstone to one-time home seven minutes later to give the Raiders a 3-0 lead.
Trinity scored before halftime, but Lebanon tallied three more after the break to pull away. Chickering added a goal, Patrick Mason and Connor Downs each scored for their first career varsity goals, and Stott and Logan Falzarano both had assists.
Davis Cole and Erik Spaulding combined for three saves in net for Lebanon (3-1), which plays at undefeated ConVal on Thursday.
Windsor
A.J. Wood had a hat trick, Brandon Tillman had two goals and Jacob Curtis, Cameron O’Brien, Hunter Grela and Isaac Robison also tallied. Tim Hodges played a strong game for the visitors, starting on the back line before moving into the midfield.
Woodstock
Cody Carnehammer scored with an assist to Emilio Montano to give Woodstock the early lead. Collin Campbell and Patrick Bald also scored before halftime to help the hosts to a 3-1 advantage. Will Crompton added a goal after the break. Cullen McCarthy finished a pair of assists.
Goalies Jack Arthur and Steve Bianchi combined for three saves. Woodstock hosts U-32 on Friday.
Orford
Lucas DeSouza answered an early Craftsbury goal to knot things up at 1-1, scoring with an assist to Robert Burgwedel. The Chargers answered three minutes later to retake the lead, and Raptor freshman Johnny Vogelien knotted the score at 2-2, with Collin Gould assisting.
The Chargers finally broke the deadlock with a goal in the 72nd minute.
“It was very tight, very close. We had plenty of opportunities in the first half where we could have scored. Some days the soccer gods shine upon you; some days they rain on you,” Rivendell coach Bob Thatcher said.
Keeper Dashiel Fukushima had 18 saves for the Raptors (1-1), who are off until hosting Sharon for homecoming on Sept. 17.
South Royalton
Nicholas Howe and Brais Figueroa notched the goals that drew South Royalton (0-1) level.
“We were very tentative in the first half, but we should have won this game,” SoRo coach Alex Montano said. “I’m encouraged at how we bounced back.”

Eleanor Frost added a goal and two assists. and Lily Crowley, Grace Dorman and Meghan Shirley also scored for TSA. The win served as a tune-up for D-IV Sharon in advance of a trip to D-II Burke Mountain on Saturday.
Woodsville
Molly Clough scored both goals in the second half after trailing 2-0 at the break. Both were unassisted on breaks down the right side of the pitch. Clough was a force on the attack for most of the game, finishing with 10 shots.
“Today we played a nice, full game,” Woodsville coach Ann Loud said. “We were down in numbers; the kids that played went really hard. Every one of them busted their butts. We’ll get kids healthy and back on the field, and we’ll be OK.”
Keeper McKenzie Dennis had seven saves for the Engineers (0-2-1), who play at Epping on Thursday.
Manchester
“They scored twice off corners early. We didn’t do so bad once we settled in; it just took us a while to settle in. I’m proud of the effort of my team,” Hanover coach Jean Essex said.
Goalie Sophie Cardenali had 14 saves for the Marauders. Essex praised the defensive play of Maddie Wallace, Mae Butler, Allyce Good and Maggie Kohl. Hanover visits Lebanon on Friday.

Hanover’s Brian Seltzer and Souhegan’s Jeff Boehm tied for the medal with 2-over par rounds of 38. Jack Brendel added a 40 for the Marauders, David Lehmann had 41, Matthew Suriawinata had 44 and Jasper Meyer had 45.

The Falcons easily won the day, finishing 39 strokes better than Stevens behind the 1-2 punch of medalist Doug Champagne’s 1-over-par 37 and a 39 from runner-up Ronan Lucey. Schoolcraft shared third with Bow’s Jack Olson at 41.
The Cards picked up the rest of their points from Teagan Daignault (47), Ian MacDonald (61) and Hunter LaClair (61) for a key win over Campbell.
“It was a huge win for us, because Campbell is one of those playoff contenders,” Stevens coach Ryan Seaver said. “I kind of challenged the guys before the match, and they responded.”
Stevens heads to the Country Club of New Hampshire on Thursday for match with Monadnock, Prospect Mountain and host Kearsarge.

White Mountains took the team win behind the medal-winning play of Griffin Crane (41). The Engineers kept their scores tight, getting a 54 from Ben Simboli, a 55 from Travis Stoddard and rounds of 56 from Brooke Simano and Seanon May.
