Sam Pych volleyed home a second-half corner kick from Henry Kahl to break open the scoreless match. Twenty minutes later, Adams took a through ball from Kahl to add some late-game insurance. Hanover outshot the Lancers, 12-1, in the second half.
Hanover goalkeeper Pat Logan made three saves in the shutout victory, including a diving stop in the first half to keep the game knotted. Londonderry goalkeeper Cam Wheeler made five saves in the loss.
Hanover (1-0) will travel to Exeter on Tuesday.
Woodsville
The Engineers held a 3-1 lead at halftime, but Newmarket stormed back in the second half to tie the match. Woodsville took over from there, eventually outshooting the Mules in the game, 8-7.
Alex Enderson scored two goals and added one helper for the Engineers, and Adam Cataldo scored a goal and contributed one assist. Cooper Davidson and Isaac Frost combined for two saves in the victory.
Woodsville (1-0) hosts Colebrook on Tuesday.
Bow, n.h.
Owen Johnstone, Julian Stott and Nate Chickering dented the net for Lebanon, with Luke Sandmann earning a pair of assists. Johnstone struck in the seventh minute, pounding home a Nate Gariepy rebound. Stott scored unassisted in the 37th minute, and Chickering converted a Sandmann cross from the right wing in the 61st.
With center back Carter Adams preventing Bow — who went 15-1 last year and was top-seeded in the D-III state tourney — from getting off a shot in the penalty area, Lebanon goalkeepers Davis Cole and Chris Nulty combined on the shutout. Cole made two saves over 65 minutes, and Nulty didn’t face a shot on goal.
The Raiders visit John Stark on Tuesday.
West Canaan
Stenger assisted on Micah McCullough’s goal to open the scoring for Mascoma. Kyle Langlais also added a goal, assisted by Alex Schwarz. Royals goalkeeper Hunter White made nine saves.
Mascoma (0-0-1) hosts Laconia on Tuesday.
Bristol, n.h.
Newport hosts Sunapee on Tuesday in its home opener.
Whitefield, n.h.
Hannah Stark scored twice in the second half as Newport rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit. Sister Rachel Stark assisted the tying goal in the 51st minute, and Anna Caron served the pass that provided Hannah Stark’s match-winner 10 minutes later.
Anna Pysz stopped 15 shots in goal for Newport, surrendering only a 21st-minute Spartan penalty kick following a hand ball.
“It’s a terrific way to start the season,” Newport coach Jon Hamel said. “We have a really tough schedule. We weren’t able to get any jamborees or scrimmages, so it was kind of our first time on the field playing anybody. It was a gutsy effort.”
Newport (1-0) hosts Sunapee on Tuesday.

Lebanon goalkeeper Chloe Wadlinger made 17 saves in the loss, as Bow outshot the visitors, 22-1. The Raiders (0-1) will play their home opener Tuesday against John Stark.
Claremont
Griffin hit the twine in the 15th, 18th and 32nd minutes for Stevens, which rolled in its home debut. Kelsey Belisle accounted for Stevens’ other two goals and joined Audrey Puksta in the two-assist department as well.
“I just thought our team, from back to front, played well,” Stevens coach Tom Belaire said. “They all had a great game.”
Goalies Amber Duford and Kaitlyn Chambers shared the shutout, making seven stops. The Cards are off until hosting Hillsboro-Deering on Thursday.
Woodsville
Woodsville continues a three-game homestand to kick off the schedule when Colebrook visits on Tuesday.
Hanover
Sophomore Remy Borinsky passed the ball from the middle to Neuberger six minutes into the second extra period. After working around a Marist defender, the Germantown, Tenn., native buried a shot from the right side of the box for the game-winner.
Senior goalkeeper Casey Cousineau recorded four saves in the shutout victory for Dartmouth, which hosts Iona on Sunday.
