“He threw tough against Poultney in the tournament last year,” said Rivendell head coach Eric Reichert. “He sometimes saves his arm a little bit. Today, he rared back. … His changeup, his curveball were good.”
Fukushima helped himself by scoring the game’s lone run in the fourth inning off an RBI single from Colin Gould. Fukushima recorded 12 strikeouts and gave up two walks in the victory, along with a short pop-up in the infield in the seventh that counted as Poultney’s lone hit.
Rivendell (7-9) travels to No. 3 Randolph (11-5) on Saturday.
Bradford, Vt.
Oxbow’s offense only needed four hits for the victory. Chris Underhill led the way with a two-run single in the third inning to put the Olympians up, 2-0. Nick Daigle had two base hits, and Jake Stimson added one.
Oxbow (8-9) travels to Leland & Gray on Friday.
Sunapee
Sunapee’s offense took a while to get going but finally got on the board with two runs in the fourth inning and another 10 in the fifth. Lexie Hamilton had two hits, including a double, and added an RBI. Faith Larpenter had two hits, three RBIs and scored twice, Meagan Curry had three hits and one RBI, and Meg Frederick added two hits.
The top-ranked Lakers (17-0) host No. 8 Woodsville on Saturday.
Woodsville
Woodsville was down 2-0 after the first inning, but cut No. 9 Derryfield’s lead to 2-1 with a run in the third inning. Prest hit an RBI triple to deep right center field to tie the game, and Tori Clough followed up with an RBI single to take the lead.
Prest finished the game recording 10 strikeouts, allowing two hits and four walks. Woodsville managed six hits offensively, three of which came from Clough.
The Engineers (12-5) travel to undefeated No. 1 Sunapee on Saturday.
Quechee
Walkker Judd had four goals, Nate Lemieux had two goals and two assists and Reece Thompson had two tallies for Hartford, which coach Bill Elberty said hosted its first postseason game in 10 years.
Ben Rouillard had a goal and an assist, Nick Dorain had a goal and Will Mayfield had an assist for the Hurricanes, who host third-seeded Vergennes (9-6) on Friday under the lights on the high school’s football field. The teams did not clash during the regular season.

Hanover
Molly Seibel led the way with five goals and four assists, and Johanna Copeland had a team-high six goals to go with one helper. Hailey Fahey netted three goals, Amelia Lubrano and Jasmine Lou each added two helpers, and Cate Wagner and Isabelle Sagha netted one goal each. Katlyn Hurd made three saves.
“The girls learned a new offense this week; they really bought into it,” Hanover head coach Chris Seibel said. “It was a great game.”
Hanover (13-5) will play Windham in Saturday’s 5 p.m. semifinal at Exeter’s Bill Ball Stadium.
Barre, Vt.
Rice’s Sam Myers was the medalist with a 69. Rice placed first at 337, followed by Harwood at 339 and Lake Region at 430.
John Clements (106), Evan Flaherty (121) and Emerson Burns (133) rounded out Oxbow’s scores.

Prior to Allegany, Harney served as head girls basketball coach at The Stony Brook School in Stony Brook, N.Y.
Harney graduated from Dickinson College in 2009.

Zimet spent the past four years at the University of San Francisco, where he was assistant indoor volleyball coach and co-head coach of the sand volleyball team, working alongside Doron for both.
Zimet has over 22 years of competitive volleyball experience to his name. He spent nine years on the Israeli National Team, including two years as captain. He then departed his native Israel to play for the University of Hawaii, where he helped the Rainbow Warriors to the 2002 NCAA Championship. A four-year letterwinner as an outside hitter, Zimet served as team captain and was an Academic All-American as a senior.
Zimet graduated from Hawaii in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Information and Computer Science. A four-time Dean’s List selection, Eyal is a member of the Screen Actor’s Guild (SAG) and served in the Israeli Defense Force (IDF).
