Hanover
On the occasion the Nashua South attack was able to get good shot on goal, Hanover goaltender Zander Lingelbach-Pierce anchored the Hanover backline with an impressive 10 saves. The Marauders led, 7-3, at halftime and locked down any would-be comeback attempt after the break.
“Zander played an outstanding game for us, including several point-blank stops,” Hanover coach Ryan Gardner said. “(Nashua South) has some really strong offensive players, but our close defense did a really nice job of keeping them in check all game.”
Brian Seltzer led the Marauders (5-5) with four goals and an assist. Graham Penfield had two goals and two assists. Jake Acker had a goal and two assists. Brian Pattison and George Geraghty each scored and had one helper. Reed Winter and Colin Rozzi added a goal apiece.
Hanover improves to 5-5 with the victory, good enough to place in the top half of the New Hampshire Division I standings at just past the halfway point of the regular season. The Marauders now have won two straight and will visit Salem on Thursday afternoon.
“It’s a good win. These are the kind of games we need to win to get a decent playoff seed,” Gardner said.
Lebanon
Damren’s 100th point came in the second quarter on an assist of a Michael Fleury goal. Damren finished with three goals and three assists and now stands at 103 points for his career.
“I couldn’t be more proud to coach him. His hard work on the field is finally paying dividends,” Lebanon coach Lochrane Gary said.
Goalie Bryan Albright (12 saves) drew praise from Gary for several clutch saves, intercepted passes and nice clears out of the Lebanon zone. Gareth Davis also spent time in goal for the Raiders and had three saves.
Fleury added two goals and three assists, Jordan Hammond scored three times, Jeremy Corbin had two goals and Cormac Coyle had one assist for the Raiders, who host Monadnock on Thursday.
Laconia, n.h.
Gilford, n.h.
Lebanon led, 5-1, in the first half before Gilford cut the lead to 7-5 by halftime. The Eagles kept the momentum and cut the lead to one goal late in the fourth quarter and had possession as the game ended.
Elle Brine led the way with seven goals and an assist.
Kendra MacDonald added three goals and two assists, Katie Berthsavage netted two goals and one helper, Cecilia Webber added a goal and Brooke Falzarano had an assist. Elizabeth Jones made nine saves.
The Raiders (5-2) hosts Kearsarge on Friday.
Randolph
Emily Ruffing (four goals) and Amanda Locke (three goals) led Hartford. Alice Dwyer, Havailah Arnold and Caitlin Gaudet each had one goal. Morgan Pero had two assists and Emily Ricker had one.
Michaela Ricker starred on both ends of the field with a goal, an assist, three draw controls and four blocked shots on the defensive end for the Canes. Hartford goalies Jaden Sanborn and Victoria Stevenson combined for 11 saves. The Canes host Rutland on Thursday.
Hanover
John He and Aidan Biglow won the decisive doubles match for Hanover, beating John Marineau and Tate Tinyochon, 9-8 (7-5).
“The second doubles dug down deep and competed. It’s really an understatement to say that they played under pressure and succeeded; it was a great effort as the sun was setting quickly,” Hanover coach Jarrod Shaheen said.
Hanover dropped the top three singles matches and then saw clutch victories from Biglow (8-2), Matty Siegel (8-6) and Jasper Meyer (8-5) in the bottom half of the ladder. Graham Dickson and Benny Gantrish avenged their singles losses with an 8-4 victory in doubles.
Hanover (6-2) hosts Spaulding on Thursday.
Lebanon
Jacob Peress cruised to an 8-1 victory at No. 1 singles. Terran Campbell (8-1), Noah Didehbani (8-5), Owen Johnstone (8-2), Ben Ask (8-1) and Noah Ryder (8-1) also won in singles.
Peress and Campbell added an 8-1 victory in doubles. Ask and Johnstone won 8-3. The Raiders host Pembroke today.
Woodstock
Wilson, a freshman, won a marathon match at No. 3 singles, 7-6 (8-6), 2-6, 10-7. Wilson trailed 7-3 in the third set tiebreak before closing with seven straight points to get the victory. Ethan Earl and Brendan Schwartz lost a great match at No. 2 doubles, 2-6, 6-4, 11-9. Ray Kurek and Gardner Gottshegan each lost tight matches in singles.
Woodstock (3-5) visits Brattleboro on Thursday.
White River Junction
“We showed improvement over the last match we played with them; hopefully we’ll take that on to our next match,” Hartford coach Iris Berezin said.
The Canes host Rutland on Wednesday.
Rutland
Momo Biele won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles for Woodstock. Morgan Hartman (6-4, 6-2), Kenzie Biele (7-5, 6-2) and Haley Usilton (8-6) also won in singles. Grace Frazier lost a tough matchup at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-2.
Katey MacMasters and Chloe Noble won, 6-1, 6-2, at the top doubles spot. Woodstock won the second doubles match by forfeit.
The Wasps host Burr & Burton today, first to finish a match suspended by rain last week with the score tied at 2-2, and then for a regularly scheduled match with the Bulldogs immediately after.
