NORTH HAVERHILL — A Grafton County grand jury has indicted a man on multiple charges of felonious sexual assault and indecent exposure and lewdness.

Bernard Durbin, 36, is facing a total of five felonies: three counts of felonious sexual assault and two counts of indecent exposure and lewdness. The indictments were returned last month in Grafton Superior Court.

Described in a Haverhill police news release last month as a former resident of Haverhill, Durbin is accused of sexually assaulting a minor between February 2023 and July 2025.

Haverhill Police Chief David Appleby did not immediately respond to a voicemail on Tuesday.

The alleged victim is currently 13 years old, according to the indictments.

Durbin is scheduled to be a arraigned Aug. 10 at 9 a.m. in Grafton Superior Court.

Court records show that, as of Tuesday, Durbin did not have an attorney as of Tuesday. A voicemail left for the prosecutor in the case, Paul Fitzgerald of the Grafton County Attorney’s Office, was not immediately returned.
