DHMC’s Weinstein to Receive Innovators Award

Lebanon — Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center’s CEO and president James Weinstein has been awarded the American Hospital Association’s Justin Ford Kimball Innovators Award.

The association — which includes about 5,000 hospitals, health care systems and other providers — gives the award to individuals or organizations that have developed new approaches to health care financing or delivery to improve access to care, according to a news release from the organization.

Weinstein “is an innovator, whose leadership has inspired the hospital field and improved health in his state,” Rick Pollack, president and CEO of the American Hospital Association, said in a news release. “Under his leadership Dartmouth-Hitchcock has embraced population health management developing innovative collaborations that are leading to improved access, lower costs, higher quality and better outcomes.”

In addition to his accomplishments at the helm of DHMC, the hospital association also cited Weinstein’s work as executive director and founding member of the High Value Healthcare Collaborative.

DHMC Recognized by Heart Association For Workplace Health

Lebanon — The American Heart Association has designated Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center as a “Gold-Fit Friendly Worksite.”

DHMC received the distinction due to its role in providing employees with wellness initiatives and promoting a healthy culture, according to the heart association. “Workplace health continues to be an important way to improve the well-being of the workforce,” said American Heart Association CEO Nancy Brown in a news release.

The health care organization will be recognized on the association’s website.

Speaker for Lake Sunapee VNA Women’s Luncheon Announced

New London — Marion J. Hardy, an osteopathic physician and retired Air Force colonel, will be the guest speaker at the 18th annual “Women Who Make A Difference Luncheon” on May 17 at Colby-Sawyer College.

Hardy was one of the first women to fly the F-16 as a flight surgeon and was awarded the Legion of Merit, the Air Force Achievement Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
