LEBANON — The New Hampshire Board of Medicine has reprimanded a physician assistant from the Upper Valley for using a co-worker’s name to write prescriptions for her husband and then using the medications herself.
As a result, Kristin Scott, who worked for a Lebanon-based neurology practice, is required to take a fitness to practice examination before returning to practice, be on probation for two years, pay a $2,000 fine and take six hours of continuing education courses in ethics, according to a settlement agreement that was signed last month.
The board found that Scott “engaged in dishonest and unprofessional conduct” by using a colleague’s name to write a total of nine prescriptions for the muscle relaxant, carisoprodol — also known by the brand name Soma — for her husband (identified in the filing as E.S.) between September 2016 and May 2018.
Scott, through her Lebanon-based attorney Paul McDonough, declined to comment on Tuesday.
