ENFIELD โ€” Upper Valley fire departments were busy Tuesday afternoon after a thunderstorm blew through the region.

In Enfield, the Fire Department responded after the storm knocked down a tree that crushed an underground propane tank. Firefighters used spray from their water lines to create air flow over the tank and disburse leaking propane from a damaged high pressure line, while a technician assessed the damage and shut off the tank.

Canaan, Plainfield and Springfield fire departments assisted on the scene in pumping water from nearby Crystal Lake.
