ENFIELD โ Upper Valley fire departments were busy Tuesday afternoon after a thunderstorm blew through the region.
In Enfield, the Fire Department responded after the storm knocked down a tree that crushed an underground propane tank. Firefighters used spray from their water lines to create air flow over the tank and disburse leaking propane from a damaged high pressure line, while a technician assessed the damage and shut off the tank.
Canaan, Plainfield and Springfield fire departments assisted on the scene in pumping water from nearby Crystal Lake.

Meanwhile in West Lebanon, traffic was stopped on Airport Road as firefighters extinguished a fire sparked when a tree fell on electric wires in the storm.
