The Big Greenโ€™s heavyweight rowing team finished sixth overall at the IRA National Championship, which wrapped up over the weekend in Folsom, Calif., which was their best finish at the event since 2022, when it finished fifth. 

In three races on Sunday, the Big Green won the second 3V final (5:52.352), finished sixth in the second 2V final (6:01.372), and fifth in the 1V final (5:47.143).

Lightweight rowing third at National Championship

The Big Green finished sixth in the 2V second final (6:06.11) and third in the 1V final (5:50.339) on Sunday, the final day of the IRA National Championship in Folsom, Calif., to finish third overall. 

Track & Field athletes compete at regionals

Max Klein and J’Voughnn Blake opened competition for Dartmouth at the NCAA East Preliminary in Lexington, Ky., on Wednesday. 

Klein threw the shot put 18.46m, which was good for 15th, and Blake ran the 800m in 1:48.64, which was 32nd. The pair’s results were not strong enough to move on in the event.

On Thursday, Andie Murray advanced to the quarterfinals of the 800m, finishing first in her heat (2:04.26). Mariella Schweitzer put up a 5.96m result in the long jump, which was good for 27th and ended her season.

Murrayโ€™s season wrapped up on Saturday when she finished eighth in the quarterfinals (2:05.59). 

Volleyball adds new staffer

Brianna Ford, who most recently played professional volleyball for the Columbus Fury of Major League Volleyball, will be joining Kevin Maureen Campbellโ€™s staff as an assistant.ย 

Ford also played the overseas for the USC Mรผnster of the German Bundesliga, and before that, she played collegiately at the University of Texas at Arlington.ย 

Field hockey adds staffer with Hanover tiesย 

Macy Curtis, who grew up in Hanover and played at Hanover High School before graduating in 2020, is joining the Big Green as an assistant coach. After her time in Hanover, Curtis played at Davidson College.ย

Womenโ€™s basketball gets new assistant 

Sean Ehlbeck is joining the Big Green as an assistant coach. Ehlbeck was most recently an assistant at Boston College, where he focused on offense and player development. 

Before that, Ehlbeck was an assistant at the University of Texas at Arlington. He also had a stint at Maryland as the Director of Recruiting Operations and Assistant Video Coordinator, and at Rice as the Director of Operations and Video Coordinator.

Dartmouth grad joins USA Menโ€™s Basketball staff 

Garrison Wade, a Big Green graduate in 2022, is joining the United Statesโ€™ menโ€™s national team as its team manager. Wade, who played four years at Dartmouth, was a scout for the Phoenix Suns last season.ย 

Big Green swimmers perform at TYR Pro Series

Jacob Turner, William McClelland, David Kushnirsky, and Nil Helvacioglu were the Dartmouth athletes to compete at the event that wrapped up late last month in Sacramento, Calif. 

Turner had finishes of fourth (2:03.15) in the 200-meter individual medley A-final, 22nd (1:54.41) in the 200-meter freestyle C-final, 12th (54.78) in the 100-meter butterfly B-final, and 13th (2:03.85) in the 200-meter butterfly semifinal. 

McClelland had finishes of 15th (55.10) in the 100-meter butterfly B-final and 19th (25.21) in the 50-meter butterfly C-final. 

Kushnirsky had a lifetime best (28.83) in the 50-meter breaststroke and qualified for the B-final, where he finished 14th. Helvacioglu competed for the first time this season in the 200-meter freestyle.
