Wasted money

I am not a Hanover resident but I am nonetheless stunned that any Hanover time or money is being spent to create a “gathering space” for people in the Hanover downtown based on the belief that no such place exists.

Abutting Main Street is an approximately two block by four block rectangle of open space fully maintained without taxpayer money and with ample space for “enjoying the outdoors for free” and providing for “spontaneous social connection”. It’s called the Dartmouth Green.

If the Ledyard Bank is looking for a socially valuable use of its tiny space, I recommend a shelter for the homeless who certainly cannot otherwise afford indoor living in Hanover.
