VERSHIRE — Voters approved two articles by ballot in a Special Town Meeting on Saturday allowing the Selectboard to appoint a treasurer and allowing that person to reside outside of Vershire.
Voters granted the Selectboard the ability to appoint a treasurer, 39 to 15.
They allowed that the town treasurer could be a Vermont resident who lives outside of Vershire, 35 to 19.
In each case there was one blank ballot.
Of the 590 voters on Vershire’s checklist, 55, or about 9%, participated.
A revote on the budgets voters rejected earlier this month has yet to be scheduled, Town Clerk Chelsea Parker said Tuesday.
