The war we must wage
Donald Trump’s war engaging Iran is not only illegal and in violation of the constitutional powers allocated to the President of the United States, it is also contrary to the survival of the people of the United States, the people of the world and all life that inhabits the biosphere. The destruction, environmental degradation and human tragedy that we are witnessing playing out in the middle east is a tragedy of epic proportions.
We have to refocus our efforts on an even greater challenge.
The war that we all must wage is the war against Climate Change. This war can unite us across the world and there are three principles to follow to the path to survival:
The energy we need is available every day from the perpetual energy that comes to the earth from the sun. More than enough energy arrives daily from the sun to meet the needs of humans and every other form of life on earth. For those interested in making money renewable energy is the future.
We must cease the manufacture of materials that are hazardous to life. We must make everything that we manufacture safe to return to the earth.
We must protect biodiversity throughout the ecosystems around the earth. It is only through the preservation of the myriad of species that make our planet the most beautiful biosphere imaginable that we will manage to survive.
We must stop fighting over political control, ideological concerns and economic control. We must stop killing children, all people and living creatures and concentrate on sustaining life. Imagine — What if we dedicated a billion dollars a day to creating a world that respected all life, that united people in providing health, safety and fulfillment for all and at the same time protected every species on earth? Imagine and work to achieve that goal!
