Acuity….again?

Despite all past efforts by citizens and voters, the NH Department of Justice has accepted yet another appeal from Acuity Management. This is the Massachusetts company seeking to transport toxic debris—a proposed 3,000 tons each week!—into NH, to a too small Claremont site for transfer. Given the trucking routes, this is NOT just a Claremont issue. Beyond that, the environmental hazards of all kinds that know no human made boundaries—water, wind, soil—may extend well beyond the City or the County. A pre-hearing conference on March 25th will set the parameters for appeal hearings.

It’s high time to ‘follow the money’ publicly. It can only seem obvious that some highly placed people or entities in our State stand to gain financially from this to have kept it going against all rational odds. And what is the full future plan, behind establishing this one site in Claremont?

Voters, citizens, residents, families, local officials, boards and organizations have made their NO decision clear. Now it’s time for the Governor, the NH Department of Environmental Services and the NH Department of Justice to answer the question honestly, “What is really going on with Acuity?”

If Acuity wants to fight on, be assured we the electorate will!
