A petitioned article asked voters to approve a $250,000 appropriation for the purpose of acquiring equipment and supplies to establish a transport ambulance service to be operated with the Charlestown Fire Department for the provision of Emergency Medical Services, beginning no later than March 31, 2027. This article is not recommended by Selectboard nor the finance committee.
Contested races: Jessica Lemieux, Jeremy Wood, Armadeus Davidson, Raymond Gosetti and Nancy Houghton are vying for two three-year Selectboard terms. Emily St. Pierre, Victoria Chasse, Karen Haskell and James Lupolt are vying for three, three-year Selectboard terms.
Budgets and spending articles: The proposed budget is $7 million, including an operating budget of $5.8 million, a Water Fund of $636,000, and a Sewer Fund of $525,000. If voters reject the budget, the default budget of $6.7 million, same as last year, would go into effect.
When, where and how to vote: Australian ballot voting will be held Tuesday, March 10 between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the Charlestown Senior Center, located at 223 Old Springfield Road.
