The Dartmouth College women’s soccer team closed out the regular season with a bang on Saturday, picking up a 2-0 win over Cornell at Berman Field in Ithaca, N.Y., to claim the program’s first outright Ivy League regular-season title since 2003.

Junior Stephanie Lathrop’s goal put the Big Green (11-3-2 overall, 5-2-0 league) ahead in the 25th minute. Freshman Tasha Udebhulu’s second-half goal gave her squad enough breathing room to lock down the conference’s regular-season title.

The Big Green entered the weekend trailing Brown and Columbia in the race to win the league crown. When the Bears fell at Princeton, 1-0, and the Lions could only manage a 2-2 draw with Harvard, Dartmouth opened the league-title door and walked through.

Dartmouth’s seventh regular-season Ivy championship brings to the program the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Ivy League women’s soccer tournament, which will determine the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA’s 64-team Division I tournament.

That No. 1 ranking also gives the Big Green the right to host the league tournament. The tourney, which began in 2023 and features the conference’s top four teams, will be hosted at Burnham Field for the first time.

Dartmouth, which won its first Ivy League tournament last season and advanced to NCAAs for the first time in two decades, begins its quest for a repeat with a first-round matchup against No. 4 Brown on Thursday at 7 p.m. The winner of that matchup will face the winner of No. 2 Columbia and No. 3 Princeton, also to be played in Hanover on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

The league champion will be decided on Sunday at 1 p.m.
