Franklin Pierce University has moved from Airport Road in West Lebanon to the Centerra Parkway in Lebanon and expanded its master physician assistant studies program.

“Available, excellent rural health care is an unmet need in New Hampshire, and FPU’s strong health professions programs, including (master physician assistant studies), are important engines to generate medical professionals in our state,” said Peter Eden, president of Franklin Pierce, said in a January news release. “Our new location at Centerra Parkway affords close proximity to our established partner institutions at Dartmouth, where we work in collaboration with physicians, researchers, and others.”

The new location includes a Rural Health Care Simulation Lab, which was paid for with a $825,000 in Congressionally Directed Spending from Sen. Jeanne Shaheen in 2023, according to the release. Franklin Pierce also has campuses in Rindge and Manchester, N.H., as well as Goodyear, Ariz., and Round Rock, Texas.

“The simulation suites and patient encounter rooms allow students to learn the everyday real challenges of medicine in a controlled setting,” Jeffrey Waldron, director and associate professor in the master physician assistant studies program, said in the release. “The students also benefit from the opportunity to receive constructive feedback and follow up instruction so that they enter the healthcare work force well prepared for whatever they may encounter.”
