Prayers in these difficult times
For those so inclined, here are some people to add to your prayer list:
The many immigrants as well as US citizens, who have been dehumanized and targeted, using racial profiling.
The people who have been subjected to unreasonable searches and seizures by ICE and Border Patrol as well as unnecessary and excessive force.
The families which have been ripped apart, and pregnant women who have suffered mistreatment and neglect.
The families of the 35 people who have died in ICE custody since January 20 of last year.
Those who are being kept in a gulag of are overcrowded and unsanitary detention centers, with very limited health care and questionable food.
The over 70% of people in detention centers who have no criminal convictions (the worst of the worst?).
The many immigrants who have been denied Constitutional due process and denied access to a lawyer.
The immigrants who have been deported to countries they are not from or simply disappeared.
Renee Good and Alex Pretti, may they rest in peace.
Americans who have been traumatized by the domestic terrorism of ICE and Border Patrol.
The Bible says to welcome the stranger and the foreigner because we are all God’s children, every one of us.
