SHARON โ Authorities found a man dead following a fire inside a camper on Route 14 on Sunday morning.
Several people called 911 on Sunday at about 10 a.m. after seeing black smoke emanating from a camper at 4573 Vermont Route 14 in Sharon, according to a news release from Vermont State Police.
The Sharon Fire Department arrived, extinguished the fire and found the man dead inside.
The Department of Public Safety Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit worked with detectives from the Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations to investigate the fire and the untimely death.
The fire appears to have been accidental and related to smoking materials, the release said. It is not considered suspicious.
The manโs body was transported to the Chief Medical Examinerโs Office in Burlington for an autopsy to confirm his identity and determine the cause and manner of his death.
Police are withholding his name pending notification of next of kin.
The Sharon fire comes less than a day after a fire in Bradford, Vt., believed to have originated with a portable heater, burned a man, leaving him in critical condition
