Margie Manner

Windsor, VT – Margie Manner, 77, passed away peacefully at her home in Windsor, VT, on January 5, 2026, after a long illness. She was born October 28, 1948, to Edna and Stanley Gearhart and grew up in South Sterling, PA, graduating from Wallenpaupack High School in 1966.

Margie was known for her warmth, adventurous spirit, and creativity. She loved skiing, sailing, horses, and the arts, especially stained glass and knitting. She worked for many years with Equi-Librium, a therapeutic riding organization, before retiring.

In 1979, she married William Manner, and together they raised their daughter, Karey, in Swiftwater, PA. In 2016, Margie moved to Vermont, where she cherished her role as Grammy to her granddaughter, Nora.

She is survived by her daughter, Karey Waters; son-in-law, Ben; granddaughter, Nora; nieces Kim Simchak and Kelly Locklin and their families; sister-in-law and brother, Lori and Dale Gearhart; and her former husband and close friend, William Manner. She was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, David and John Gearhart.

A celebration of life will be held in the Poconos this summer, details to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to the Equi-librium Program or the Alzheimer’s Association.
