Lebanon, NH – With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Gail Elizabeth Malz on November 12, 2025, born September 12, 1963, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Robert Vincent Malz Jr. and Karen (Baker) Malz. She moved with her family to Enfield, NH, where they continued to live in close proximity through adulthood. Gail graduated from Mascoma Valley Regional High. She was a dedicated and respected employee at New England Telephone/Verizon/Fairpoint, earning her Associates Degree in Telecommunications from Vermont Tech. She was proud to be the first rated female technician in Vermont and her work on the recovery after Hurricane Irene in 2011.
She spent many summers camping on the Maine coast with her sons, sisters, and nephew and her weekends on DIY projects, stained glass and reading, always with music in the background. Sadly, she will miss the final book in the Outlander series written by Diana Galbadon, a series that prompted a 40th birthday trip with her sisters to Scotland. Her family will remember her as being fiercely independent and incredibly stubborn.
She is survived by her mother, Karen Malz, her sons Thomas V. Malz and his wife Megan and Dylan Fenlason and his wife Audrey and grandson Axel. Gail will also be missed by her brother Robert V. Malz, III (Lauri); twin sister, Linda Malz; and younger sister, Donna Gray (Peter); her nephew Michael Emilio Malz; and her long-time companion Dwayne Fenlason. She is also survived by her aunts Dorothy M’Sadeques and Nancy Baker and many cousins – many we refer to as the East Mountain Bakers. She is pre-deceased by her father, Robert V. Malz, Jr., and infant son Robert Charles Langlois.
Family and friends are invited to Gail’s memorial calling hours at the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon on Tuesday November 18th from 10:30 to 12:00 with a memorial service to begin at 12:00. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Enfield.
