NEWPORT โ€” A 25-year-old Claremont man pleaded guilty to stalking his former wife following an incident in which the woman’s boyfriend allegedly fired gun shots at the man while he was in his vehicle in the Mascoma Bank parking lot this past summer.

Bobby Trujillo, of Union Street, pleaded guilty to a single count of stalking in Sullivan County Superior Court, according to court records. He was sentenced to two to five years in state prison with all but 128 days suspended for time served.

He must also complete a batterers program at the discretion of probation officials and is ordered to have no contact with the victim.

Trujillo’s former wife complained to police that Trujillo was appearing in her driveway and leaving threatening messages on her phone two days after he and her boyfriend, Isaac Torres, were in an altercation in the parking lot of Mascoma Bank. During the incident, Torres allegedly fired a gun multiple times at Trujillo in his vehicle, police reported at the time.

Torres, 22, of Walnut Street in Claremont, was also charged with first-degree assault and multiple counts of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon. He currently remains held without bail at Sullivan County House of Corrections and waived his right to a speedy trial at his last court hearing on Oct. 28, according to court records.
