BETHEL — The Selectboard is soliciting applications to fill a recently vacated board seat through Town Meeting next March.
Selectboard member Brian Wright resigned July 30, according to the minutes of an Aug. 25 board meeting. The minutes did not provide a reason for the resignation.
Wright was appointed by the Selectboard in late February to serve a one-year term through Town Meeting next March. Wright is the third Bethel Selectboard member to resign before completing their terms this year.
Wright replaced Paul Vallee who resigned in mid-February for “personal reasons,” according to meeting minutes from the time. Eijah “Alvi” Reed then resigned from the board in March a week after being elected, also for “personal reasons.” Ben Roberts now holds the seat vacated by Reed.
The board is now soliciting applications to replace Wright.
Applicants should email a letter of interest to Town Manager Therese Kirby at tkirby@townofbethelvt.com by Sept. 17 at noon. Kirby will schedule interviews with the Selectboard on Sept. 22 and applicants should be prepared to attend in person or remotely.
