Mary D. Mosshammer
West Lebanon, NH – Mary D. Mosshammer, (a.k.a. Mary Elizabeth Dyer)
born January 19th, 1935, in Hanover, New Hampshire, passed away on
Friday, June 27th, 2025. She was the eldest child of George Dyer and
Frances O’Leary.
After earning her nursing degree at Bates College, she balanced a
demanding nursing career at Mary Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon,
NH and later at Sharp Hospital in San Diego, CA, all while raising
four boys.
As a second career, Mary transitioned into the world of cat breeding,
specializing in the Tonkinese breed. Her background in medicine and
genetics allowed her to offer invaluable guidance to those interested
in acquiring these unique and affectionate cats. Mary’s dedication to
her craft and her love for animals shone through every aspect of her
work.
Known for her engaging personality, Mary had a gift for storytelling
and a wonderful sense of humor that brought joy to those around her.
An avid reader with a quick mind, she was always eager to share her
knowledge and insights with friends and family.
She is survived by her sons, Robert, Gregory, and Jeffrey Furbush.
Preceded in death by her Husband of 42 years, Alden Mosshamer and son
Stephen Furbush.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 13th at 1:00 pm
at the West Lebanon Cemetery in West Lebanon, NH.
